The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Delta State Council, has congratulated one of its patrons and two-time health commissioner in Delta State, Chief Joseph Sisanmi Otumara, on his inauguration as the pioneer Chairman of the Warri, Effurun and its Environs Development Agency.
The NUJ, in a release signed by its State Chairman Comrade Michael Ikeogwu and Secretary Comrade Churchill Oyovwe, said the inauguration was a reaffirmation of the capacity of Chief Otumara to deliver dutifully on assigned roles and a reward for his unflinching loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and his contribution to the victory of the party in the last general elections.
The union recalled the excellent pedigree of Chief Otumara as a successful medical practitioner who used his medical facility to reach out to the poor in health.
According to the union, Chief Otumara’s venture into politics further empowered him to promote his welfarist principle which stood him out as the first and only three-time chairman of a council in Nigeria.
As three-time Chairman of Warri South Local Government, the council praised Chief Otumara for his feats as chairman in promoting ethnic harmony, health and social programmes as well as staff welfare.
The council thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his recognition of excellence in Chief Otumara and wished him success in the onerous task of giving Warri, Effurun and environs the desired developmental facelift.
