The Delta State Executive Council has been fully constituted with the swearing-in of seventeen more Commissioners by the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

The Governor, while inaugurating the commissioners in Asaba on Tuesday, promised to reward loyal party faithful, particularly the women who laboured during the electioneering campaigns through appointments and other means.

Those sworn-in are Charles Aniagwu, Ifeanyi Egwunyenga, Mordi Ononye, Ovie Oghoore, Prince Emmanuel Amgbaduba, Gbubemi Ikolo, and Matthew Tsekiri.

Others are Christian Onogba, Omamofe Pirah, Henry Sakpra, Barry Gbe, Arthur Akpowowo, Julius Egbedi, Churchill Amagada, Martin Okonta, Sir FidelisTilije and Lawrence Ejiofor.

Governor Okowa explained that the commissioners emerged from a long list of qualified Deltans after weeks of broad- based consultations, geo-political considerations, rigorous scrutiny and quiet contemplation.

He maintained that every stakeholder in the twenty-five local government areas were carried along in the selection process, pointing out that the choices largely mirrored the wishes and aspirations of a broad spectrum.

The Governor appealed to politicians who had yet to be appointed into positions to be patient and hopeful instead of exhibiting negative emotions such as complaining, grumbling and murmuring.

Senator Okowa charged the Commissioners to see their appointments as a rare privilege by displaying a high sense of humility, bearing in mind the transient nature of power.

The Governor admonished the Commissioners to rise above divisive tendencies and foster unity, pointing out that they should exercise good judgment, show tenacity of purpose and be willing to stoop to conquer for the greater good of all.

Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Sir FidelisTilije thanked Governor Okowa for giving them the opportunity to serve the state and contribute to the successful building of a stronger Delta State which would be the pride of the nation.
