Christians have been told to address God in prayer as ‘ Father ‘ and pray always to Him with perseverance and trust.
The Priest in charge of the Saints Joachim and Anne Oratory Asaba, Reverend Father Augustine Odu, gave the charge in Sunday in a sermon to mark the 2019 Feast Day of the church.
Father Augustine said the feast was to appreciate God for the blessings worshippers received in the past one year through the constant intercession of Saints Joachim and Ann, the Saint Leaders of the church.
He explained that as parents to Virgin Mary and Grand Parents to Jesus Christ, Christians were under obligation to acknowledge, honour and celebrate Saints Joachim and Ann with thankfulness in order to attract blessings to the church.
The Catholic Priest said the two Saints were known for their faithful patience with God in the long period of their childlessness and the proper upbringing of the child Mary when she was born to have a special love and devotion to God.
Father Augustine said Saints Joachim and Ann were said to have been childless for 20 years, a period spent in fervent prayer to God In humble obedience to His will.
He called on Christians to emulate the virtues of the two Saints Leaders, relentlessly acknowledge them and ask for their prayers.
