Female ministers of God in Delta state have been urged to continue to be the conscience of the state.
The Senior Political Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, made the call when a group of pastors’ wives under the aegis of the Deborah Movement paid him a courtesy visit in Asaba.
Honourable Solomon noted that women were prayerful by nature and could easily mobilize others to pray and worship God for the good of the state.
The Senior Political Adviser acknowledged the efficacy of prayer in the life of man, pointing out that the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, had made it mandatory for government activities to begin each day with a prayer session at the Government House chapel.
He commended the Deborah Movement for supporting Governor Okowa with prayer before and during the elections and enjoined the group to sustain its prayer programmes to ensure the success of the second tenure of the Okowa administration.
Honourable Solomon said there had been a manifestation of God’s grace upon the state and called on Deltans to continue to pray for peace, unity and progress in the state.
Mrs Malachi Obruche Erica, who led the group on the visit, said the Deborah Movement’s vision was to intercede in prayer for Governor Okowa and his administration, the nation, the church and families, pointing out that the group mobilized prayer support for the Governor during the elections.
She congratulated Honourable Funkekeme Solomon on his well deserved appointment as Senior Political Adviser to the Governor and prayed God to endow him with the wisdom to advice the Governor aright on political issues affecting the state.
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of a copy of the Holy Bible to the Senior Political Adviser by Mrs Malachi, who is also a pastor.
