IKA FISH FEED MILL TO COMMENCE OPERATIONS SOON – Chika Ossai –

The Delta state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Honourable Chika Ossai, has led a team of investors to the Ika Fish Feed mill, in Owa Alisomi, Ika North east local government area to ascertain the capacity of the mill.

Honourable Chika Ossai, who expressed satisfaction with what he saw on ground at the mill, said the state government was ready and willing to partner with serious investors ready to do business with the state.

The Commissioner disclosed that the mill would go into operation as soon as the feasibility study was completed.

He charged maize farmers in the area to be ready to feed the fish mill with raw materials as soon as it commenced operation.

While commending the Owa Aliosimi community for the protection of the mill, Honourable Chika Ossai pointed out that raw materials for fish feed were available in the state.

The Managing Director of Cast Products Limited, Engineer Adolphus Ojobo, who conducted the investors round the mill, said the facility had a capacity of one point six tons per hour.

Engineer Ojobo said the equipment when put into operation would reduce the cost of fish feed for fish farmers in the area and provide market for maize farmers.

The Investors team leader, Dr Azuka Ayam, who expressed satisfaction with the capacity of the equipment on ground said a higher capacity equipment would be engaged to aurgument what was on ground.

Dr Ayam said the Ika Fish Feed mill would commence production after arrangements had been concluded with the Delta state government.

Some of the maize farmers who spoke commended the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and Honourable Chika Ossai for the initiative, adding that it will spur them to produce more maize for the mill.
