ENGAGE IN PRODUCTIVE VENTURES – Senior Political Adviser Charges Delta Youths

Youths in the state have been asked to engage productive ventures to be able to realize their potentials in life.

The Senior Political Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, gave the charge when a delegation of the Delta Integrity Group, DIG, paid him a courtesy visit in Asaba.

Honourable Solomon said as future leaders the youth had a lot to do to make the society better, adding that they should shun social vices and negative traits that would not add up to a decent and progressive society.

The Senior Political Adviser described the group as a focused youth body committed to improving the status of youths in the state through meaningful engagements.

Honourable Solomon said the involvement of the group in poverty alleviation, empowerment programme, free medicare and widows’ outreach was in line with the policy of the state government geared towards making life worth living for the people.

He stressed the importance of integrity in the affairs of man, pointing out that integrity had endeared the state Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, to the people and was key to the justice, equity and peace the state had enjoyed over the years.

The Senior Political Adviser thanked the group for its role before and during the general elections, stressing that their support for the Governor have credence to the rotational arrangement that had worked for the three senatorial districts, which had ensured equity, justice and stability in the polity.

Honourable Solomon assured the group that Governor Okowa would continue to be youth friendly and advised it to remain a reliable and dependable partner of the state government.

The leader of the group, Mr John Paul Okonma, said youth mobilization, reorientation, political enlightenment and empowerment were the main focus of the group, but that it planned to delve into entrepreneurship training, safety awareness programme, tourism promotion and Art and Culture competition.

Mr Okonma, who said the group mobilized support for the Governor during the 2019 election, congratulate Honourable Solomon on his appointment as Senior Political Adviser and pledged partnership with the state government towards the realization of set goals, especially the envisaged stronger Delta state.

He commended the Senior Political Adviser for working hard as Director General of the State PDP Campaign Organisation for the resounding victory of Governor Okowa and all other PDP candidates for the 2019 general election.

The highlight of the visit was the presentation of a role up stand of the portrait of the Senior Political Adviser to him by the leader of the group, Mr John Paul Okonma.
