The new Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Honourable Chika Ossai, has charged the management and staff of the ministry to engage in team work to ensure the realization of set goals.
Chika Ossai gave the charge, while addressing the staff of the ministry upon his resumption of duty.
He urged them to come up with ideas that would restore the lost glory of the ministry and appealed to them to extend the cooperation they have to the immediate past Commissioner to him.
The Commissioner who condemned a situation where some officers were over worked while sone others were idle, said all hands must be on deck if the ministry must the relevant in the scheme of things.
Honourable Chika Ossai warned against laxity and dereliction of duty, lateness to work, gossip and the pull him down syndrome, adding that they should always engage in productive ventures that would add value to the activities of the ministry.
He assured them that the ministry would get back all its functions taken over by some departments and agencies of government, stressing that the ministry under his watch would not sleep on its duties.
Responding on behalf of the management and staff of the ministry, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Aloha Epipade, congratulated the Commissioner on his reappointment and assured him of cooperation and support to enable him succeed.
