Immediate past member of the State Post Primary Education Board, PPEB, Dr. Henry Ofa, has called on principals of secondary schools in the state to closely monitor their teachers to ensure the prepare well for their lessons and deliver quality lectures to the students.
Dr. Ofa, who represented Delta central on the Board of PPEB, made the call when members of the Sapele branch of the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools, ANCOPSS, visited him in Oghara.
He said a lot needed to be done to raise the standard of secondary education in the state and the principals had a major role to play in achieving that.
Dr. Ofa reminded the principals that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had invested heavily in the education sector through the upgrade of facilities and commitment to the welfare of teachers and charged the principals to take control of their schools to be sure things went well.
The former PPEB Board member thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for finding him worth to serve on the Board and pldged his loyalty and support for the Governor.
He also thanked the principals for their support for the Okowa administration and for the visit even when the PPEB Board had been dissolved.
The chairman of the Sapele branch of ANCOPSS, Mr. Francis Orhorhoro, said the visit was in appreciation of the good performance of Dr. Ofa the short period he served on the PPEB Board.
Mr. Orhorhoro prayed God to lift the former PPEB Board member to a higher office to continue his good work.
