The first set of commissioners in the second lap of the Okowa administration have been sworn into office with a charge to represent the overall interest of the people of the state.

The eight Commissioners subscribed to the oath of office and allegiance at a well attended ceremony at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba.

He admonished the newly sworn-in Commissioners to lead by example by being punctual, hard working and prudent in the management of resources, urging them to uphold fairness, equity and justice which were the hallmarks of his administration.

The Governor said it was imperative for members of EXCO to embrace the concept of team leadership and collective responsibility, advising them to tap from the knowledge, skills and experience of the civil servants working with them.

Governor Okowa said the goal of building a Stronger Delta State anchored on prosperity, peace and progress was sacrosanct through careful planning, prudent spending, commitment to achieving set goals and stringent execution of policies and programmes.

Professor Patrick Muoboghare, who spoke on behalf of others, promised that they would use their wealth of experience to add value to the State and assured that they would not fail.

The swearing-in of the new commissioners coincided with the same date the first set of commissioners were sworn into office in 2015 by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
