A former member of the Board of the State Post Primary Education Board and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Dr. Henry Ofa, has advised couples to trust each other and allow the fear of God to rule their union.
Dr Ofa, who was speaking in an interview with newsmen at the wedding ceremony of the daughter of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Omonigho and Ugochukwu her husband, said only obedience to the word of God could save a marriage from failing.
He said the key to a successful marriage was well defined by the scriptures, stressing the need for couples to obey the rules of union instead of introducing conditions alien to the marriage institution to suit their purpose.
Dr. Ofa advised Omonigho and her husband to allow what endeared them to each other to flourish in their union, adding that they must share their joyful and challenging moments to be able to remain on the same page as they progress in the marriage.
The PDP chieftain congratulated Honourable Oboriovwori on the success of the intertribal marriage, which he said was unique because it engendered national unity and cohesion.
Dr. Ofa described the large turn out of guests for the wedding as a mark of recognition for the Oboriovwori family and advised the Speaker to maintain the good name of the family and support her daughter with prayer for the success of the marriage.
