President Muhammadu Buhari has assured that the implementation of the new national minimum wage will commence soon.

The Preident who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, at the 11th triennial delegates conference of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, asked state governors and employers in the private sector to work towards paying a living wage to their workers.

He said with the reforms embarked upon, the economy was expected to grow by 2.7 percent in 2019.

President Buhari asked state governments and the private sector to implement the minimum wage as a way of encouraging workers to contribute to the development of the country.

The President pledged that his government would continue to pay attention to the welfare of workers.
