The Seventh Delta State House of Assembly has been fully constituted with the appointment of the principal officers of the House.
The appointments were made by the two major political parties in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC which have their members in the House.
The PDP returned the immediate past Majority Leader and member representing Isoko North, Honourable Tim Owhefere his former Deputy and member representing the Bomadi constituency, Honourable Oboro Preyor as Leader and Deputy Leader of the House.
Also returned is Hon Pat Ajudua as the Chief Whip of the House, while Hon Solomon Ighrakpata, of the Uvwie constituency and Honourable Festus Okoh of Ika South were named Deputy Chief Whip and Majority Whip.
For the two opposition seats in the House, the member Representing Ethiope East, Honourable Innocent Anidi of the APC was named Minority leader, while the member representing the Ughelli North two constituency, Honourable Moses Anaughe, also othef APC, is the Minority Whip.
The appointments were announced at Tuesday’s plenary by the Speaker, Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori who also congratulated the Principal officers on their choice by their political parties.
Before the appointment of the Principal Officers, the Deputy Speaker, Honourable Ochor Ochor held forth at plenary, moving motions for the receipt of correspondences from the Governor and for their consideration by the House.
