The Delta State Government has pledged continued support for Human Rights advocates.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa made the pledge on Monday in Asaba while addressing Human Rights activists under the aegis of Behind Bars Rights Foundation who protested to Govt House over the alledged rape of two year old Goodness by one Emeka Okwuosa at Nsukwa, in Aniocha south local government area.

The Governor who was represented by his Senior Political Adviser, Honourable Funkekeme Solomon, said his administration frowned seriously against any form of Human Rights violation and condemned the abuse of Goodness.

He called for a thorough investigation into the case with a view to bringing the perpetrator to justice.

Governor Okowa commended Behind Bars Rights Foundation for being there for the vulnerable in the society and assured that the state government would look into the matter.

The Director General of Behind Bars Rights Foundation, Mr Harrison Gwamnishu, lamented the abuse and defilement og little Miss Goodness Johnson and the torture and unlawful detention of 12 year old Sunday by the police.

Mr Gwamnishu called for full scale investigation into the case to ensure that the culprit was brought to book.
