A 28-year-old man, Ifeanyi Alagba, had been arrested by the Anambra State Police Command for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old girl, who is deaf and dumb.
The suspect, our correspondent learnt, was nabbed at Amoko Road, Ifite by Police detectives attached to the ‘B’ Division, Awka, Anambra State.
The Police Spokesman in the State, Mr. Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.
Mr. Mohammed said the victim had been taken to hospital for medical examination, while investigation was ongoing on the matter.
He said, “The suspect allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge of an 11-year-old deaf and dumb girl of the same address, while the victim’s mother was away.
“The scene was visited by Police detectives and the victim was taken to hospital for medical examination and the case is under investigation.”
