Members of the newly inaugurated 7th Assembly of the Delta State House of Assembly have been advised to focus on making laws that will strengthen peace and unity in the state.
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Dr. Henry Ofa, gave the advice while felicitating with the law makers on their successful inauguration.
Dr. Ofa, who congratulated Honourable Sheriff OborevworI and Honourable Ochor Ochor on their emergence as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, noted that the Assembly had a good number of knowledgeable and experienced members whose contributions to legislative business would carve a niche for the House.
He said achieving a strong Delta was not negotiable , adding that the State Assembly could do a lot to make it possible.
Dr. Ofa reminded the legislators that they were elected to represent their people at the Assembly and urged them to consult widely with their constituents to be able to succeed.
The PDP chieftain commended the 6th Assembly for the robust relationship it had with the executive arm of government and enjoined the 7th Assembly to build on the achievement of the last Assembly.
