Detectives attached to the Delta state police command have recovered the body of a 54- year old lawyer, Kennedy Nwashide, allegedly killed by his kidnappers.
The decomposing corpse of the victim was found on a bush path in Ubulu Uku community, Aniocha south local government area of Delta state, two months after he was abducted by a gang of kidnappers.
Confirming the incident to newsmen in Asaba, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, Mr Adeyinka Adele, said investigation was ongoing and no arrest has been made.
Family members said the kidnappers killed their brother after collecting N4million as ransom.
They alleged that the victim might have identified some of the gang members, hence he was killed after collecting the ransom, describing the deceased, who was also a pastor, as humble
It will be recalled that a former Obi of Ubulu Uku community, Edward Akaeze Ofulue 111, was killed in a similar circumstance after his abductors had been paid ransom.
