A group of Indigenous Imo Town Unions in Imo state has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to address herdsmen attacks in the South-East or the region would resort to self-defence.
In a communiqué issued after their meeting in Owerri, the Town Unions urged the federal government to do the needful.
In the communiqué signed by its National President, Emeka Diwe, the group said, “One of the primary roles and obligations a reasonable and caring government owes its people is protection of lives and property. It follows that where the government fails in this important duty, the citizens will be left with no other option but to reactivate traditional self-defence approach to avoid being destroyed or exterminated by invaders or attackers.”
