It was indeed an emotion laden valedictory management and staff meeting on Thursday (yesterday) at the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Asaba as speaker after speaker extolled the leadership qualities and administrative dexterity of the pioneer Director General of the Agency, Chief Clement T. Ofuani.
Chief Ofuani had reminded staff present that because the Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa recognized the development of the State’s Capital Territory as an issue of urgent importance, the Bill for the establishment of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency was the first executive Bill to be sent to the State House of Assembly upon being sworn-in as governor some four years ago.
He commended the development vision of the Governor and counted it a privilege that he was appointed as the pioneer Director General to help drive the vision.
Ofuani observed that four years down the line, the team spirit and extra commitment of staff had transformed the development vision of the Governor into visible, concrete and convincing developmental landmarks that have positively altered the physical and socio-economic landscape of the entire Capital Territory.
He thanked the staff of the Agency for extending so much love and cooperation to him as DG of the Agency and asked that same gesture be extended to the next Director General to be appointed for the Agency.
Surveyor Uzor Nwanze had earlier observed that working with Chief Ofuani had presented him an uncommon platform to better understand the dynamics of the workings of the public sector in Nigeria .
The highpoint of the meeting was the presentation of the handover note on the state, accomplishment and vision of the Agency to the Manager, Admin, Mr Alfred Ebrenehin.
