The Chairman of Delta Force Football Club of Asaba, Mr. Emmanuel Chidi-Okonkwo has, on behalf of the management of the club, appreciated Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the state government, the Executive Chairman of the Delta State Sports Commission, Chief Tonobok Okowa, staff of the State Sports Commission, stakeholders, fans and indeed Deltans for their unflinching support for the club during the just concluded 2019 NPFL Abridged League season.
Mr Chidi-Okonkwo, in a statement, said the support for the club was massive despite making its debut in the NPFL in mid season, stressing that the club was encouraged by the show of love by Deltans.
The ex- international asserted that though the Delta Ambassadors did not attain its desire of picking a continental spot in its debut season, it would remain committed to bringing Africa football to Asaba next season as the club would work towards picking a continental spot.
He, however, urged the state government and all football stakeholders to remain supportive of the club to enable them achieve this dream.
Mr. Chidi-Okonkwo said the club had already commenced preparation for the next season and thanked the Technical crew and players for working hard to ensure that the team survived despite the short period they had to play in the NPFL.
