The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Professor Mahmood Yakubu, today declared Bello Mohammed Matawalle of the PDP winner of the Zamfara state governorship election.
All other PDP candidates in the state were also declared winners of their various elections.
Professor Yakubu, who was addressing a press conference in Abuja, declared that PDP won in all elective positions in the state after the Supreme Court ruled that the All Progressives Congress, APC, failed to conduct a valid primary election.
Meanwhile, the PDP has congratulated Zamfara State Governor-elect, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, all federal and state legislators-elect, as well as the people of Zamfara State on the electoral victory
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, the party described the victory as a clear pointer to the fact that no matter how long manipulations and anti-democratic tendencies would appear to thrive, justice and the will of the people would always prevail.
The PDP assured the people of Zamfara state of a purposeful, people-based and result-oriented leadership that would unite and revitalize the state for greater good, in line with the wishes and aspiration of the people.
The party said Zamfara was blessed with abundant human and natural resources, assuring that the in-coming administration would direct all energies towards harnessing such resources for the wellbeing of all.
