NO REGRETS SANITIZING THE SYSTEM – Chika Ossai

Delta state commissioner for Lands, Surveys and Urban Development, Honourable chika Ossai has commended the management and staff of the ministry for their support and corporation towards achieving set goals.

Chika Ossai gave the commendation today in Asaba when he met with the staff to inform them that he would be handing over the affairs of the ministry tomorrow to the Permanent Secretary.

The commissioner, who described his experience in the ministry as rewarding, said he had acquired  knowledge from every department of the ministry, adding that he had  become a good surveyor, land officer, town planner and a better administrator.

He stated that his administration did a lot in sanitizing the land system, especially as it concerned land speculation and racketeering, double issuance of Certificate of Occupancy on one plot of land, encroachment on government land and settlement of lots of land litigations.

The commissioner enjoined the management and staff of the ministry to continue to improve on their services in order to justify the efforts of government towards creating a better work environment for them.

Honourable Chika Ossai, who thanked the State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for giving him the opportunity to serve in the ministry, said he had no regrets being a commissioner for Lands, Surveys and Urban Development.

He urged them to sustain the progress so far made and extend the level of cooperation he enjoyed from them to the incoming commissioner.

The Acting Permanent Secretary of the Minidtry, Mr Emmanuel Oburoh, expressed appreciation to the commissioner for having a listening ear and for being a source of inspiration for the staff of the ministry.

Some members of staff who spoke commended Honourable chika Ossai for his ability to listen to professional advice and for ensuring that all official assignments were professionally done.

The chairman of the staff union, Comrade Anthony Ugbolue, described Chika Ossai as a labour friendly commissioner.
