The Forum of Non Sitting Members of the Delta State House of Assembly has pledged increased support for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa ahead of his inauguration for a second term.

The Chairman of the Forum, Honourable Aneke Ifemeni, made the pledge in Asaba at a meeting of the body.

Honourable Ifemeni, the pioneer Majority Leader of the State Assembly, thanked members for delivering their wards to Senator Okowa in the last governorship election and appealed to the Governor to consider them for appointment and empowerment in his second tenure.

He also thanked the Governor for his support for the Forum and assured him of collaboration in taking the state to greater heights.

Honourable Ifemeni, who is also a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Agriculture, said his tenure had built a bond of unity among former legislators in the state and called on those yet to join to do so as the interest of all would be protected in the scheme of things.

Other speakers at the event commended Honourable Ifemeni for his purposeful leadership and urged him to make an impact in other sectors in line with the mandate of the Forum.

They said they decided to work for the Governor’s reelection because he had evidently done well in all sectors and advised him to use his second tenure to consolidate his achievements in the last four years.

The occasion was attended by the Secretary to the State Government and one time Deputy Speaker, Honourable Festus Agas, former state Acting Governor and Speaker, Prince Sam Obi, former Deputy Speaker Honourable Basil Ganagana, pioneer Speaker Honourable Emma Okoro, Honourable JFK Omatsone and Honourable Akpodiogaga Emeyese, among others.
