The Northern States Governors Forum, which comprises of the Governors of all the nineteen (19) Northern States, have appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to strategise and come up with measures that could permanently deal with the issue of insecurity in the region.
Yhe Forum’s Chairman and Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, made the appeal in Kaduna on Friday at a meeting of the forum.
He thanked Buhari for the swift response to insecurity incidents despite the recent worsening situation.
For the first time, the Forum’s meeting was attended by Chairmen of the various Councils of Traditional Rulers in the 19 Northern States, in consideration of the roles they play in the general scheme of things.
