The successful completion of over 317 roads by the Okowa administration has boosted socio-economic activities in the state.

The second member of the State Post Primary Education Board, PPEB, Dr Henry Ofa, made the assertion while appraising the performance of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in the past four years.

Dr Ofa said it was heartwarming to note that there was no local government area in the state without an ongoing or a completed road project due largely to the Governor’s commitment to ensuring fairness and equity in the distribution and execution of projects.

He recalled that the Governor had said his administration prioritized the development of road infrastructure to interconnect the rural communities and enhance urban renewal and integration.

The PDP chieftain said the present administration’s road project portfolio since 2015 was 317, comprising of over 1,000 kilometers of road and 344 kilometers of drains.

He cited the roads that have been embarked upon in riverine communities, even with their difficult terrain, as the Main Axial road and Ekerenkoko Township road in Warri south west local government area.

Dr Ofa said there was also the ongoing rehabilitation and asphalt overlay of the 19.7 kilometer Obutobo phase one-Obutobo phase two-Sokebolou road in Burutu local government area, Oteri Township roads Ughelli, Oleh-Emede-Olomoro road, Owhe Ologbo-Abbi road, Idumu-Ughoh road Agbor and Ejinyere-Orode road, Orerokpe.

Others are the Alisimie-Ozanogogo road, dualization of Sapele road, from Amukpe junction to AT&P as well as the newly commissioned dualized Old Lagos-Asaba road, Boji-Boji.

He said Governor Okowa had taken note of other roads yearning for attention across the state and would focus on such roads in his second term in office.
