The call is contained in a communique issued at the end of the monthly meeting of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers, held at the Press Centre, Government House, Asaba.

Reading the communique, the chairman of the Council and Obi of Owa kingdom, Dr Emmanuel Efeizomor the second, attributed the incessant killings, maiming, robbery, kidnapping and banditry in parts of the country to security lapses and called on the federal government to wake up from its slumber and do the needful to guarantee the safety of lives and property of the people.
