The new leadership of the Legislative Arm of Oshimili south local government has been assured of the cooperation of the executive arm of the council in carrying out its functions.
The chairman of the Oshimili south local government, Honourable Uche Osadebe, gave the assurance when the newly elected Leader of the Legislative Arm, Honourable Mike Obrota, led others officers on a courtesy call on him.
Honourable Osadebe noted that all had not been well with the Legislative Arm since its inauguration due to intractable issues which had tended to affect its performance and by extension the development of the Council area.
He expressed appreciation to the lawmakers for the bold step taken to correct the mistakes of the past through a change in leadership and urged them to leverage on the peace the change would bring to make bylaws for the growth and development of the Council.
The new Leader of the Legislative Arm, Honourable Mike Obrota, who emerged on Thursday (yesterday) following the impeachment of Honourable Chukwemeke Nwoseh, said the visit was to intimate the chairman with the inevitable change meant to give the Legislative Arm a new face.
Honourable Obrota assured the council chairman of the preparedness of the legislators to work with him to bring the needed development to Oshimili south local government area.
