The lifeless body of a young man believed to be in his 20s was on Wednesday found in the premises of Delta Broadcasting Service Asaba.
The corpse was seen floating in the large heavily silted uncompleted drain in the station and no one, including the internal and external security personnel of the station could give an account of how the corpse found it’s way to the premises.

The young man was, however, suspected to have been strangulated by unknown assailants and dumped in the drain, though some persons said the corpse could have flowed from the WAEC office axis of the drain to the station.

When contacted the General Manager of DBS Asaba, Lady Evelyn Binitie, said when she discovered the corpse she alerted the state Commissioner of Police, who in turn reached out to the relevant authorities to  evacuate the body.

The Director of Sanitation and Waste Management, state Ministry of Environment, Mr Lucky Adah, confirmed that the Commissioner for Envuronment, Barrister Jobn Nani, knew about the incident and had directed the Environmental Health Department of the Oshimili south local government to evacuate the corpse after obtaining the warrant to do so.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Charles Aniagwu, visited on getting to know about the incident, while the Commissioner for Information, Chief Patrick Ukah, could not be reached.
