In its resolve to rid the state of violent crimes, the Delta State Police Command has put in place adequate security measures to ensure the safety of lives and property of residents of the state.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO of the Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, says the command has strengthened its conventional crime prevention and control strategy of stop and search duty, raiding of black spots and flash points, aggressive visibility patrol to curtail all forms of criminalities.
The statement adds that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Adeyinka Adeleke, has held meetings with various stakeholders, including the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Delta State Vigilante Group, DTSVG, hunters, herdsmen, Hausa/Fulani representatives and indigenous farmers, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) to discuss issues bothering on the peace and security of the State.
Farmer/Herders crisis, cultism, robbery, kidnapping among other criminal tendencies were also deliberated upon and possible solutions postulated, which are already yielding results.
The Command assures the people of Delta State of its commitment to their safety and security at all times.
