Deltans have been commended for using the March 9 governorship election as a platform to collectively speak with one voice and act in one accord as a people.

A PDP stalwart from Oghara, in Ethiope west local government area, Dr Henry Ofa, who gave the commendation in a chat with newsmen, said the outcome of the governorship election showed that Deltans were bond with love in their collective desire to ensure the continued development of the state.

Dr Ofa noted that Deltans massively voted for Governor Okowa because they believed in him as he had proven to be reliable and dependable over the past four years of his administration.

He said Okowa had performed beyond the expectation and yearnings of Deltans through his SMART agenda, with unprecedented infrastructural and socio-economic development, including over 300 completed and ongoing road peojects across the three senatorial districts of the state, which has earned him the alias “the Road Master.”

Dr Ofa, a member of the State Post Primary Education Board, said as a man who represents a bridge across political leaning
and ethnic divide, Governor Okowa had demonstrated in several ways that he is a detribalized leader with the even spread of development projects and political appointments, adding that his empowement programme had become a reference point on how well a coordinated programme could impact on the lives of the people.

He maintained that with the visible achievements of Governor Okowa in the past four years, which even the most ardent critics of his administration could attest to, he had reasonably inspired hope and confedence in the people and would  make Delta a super state in his second term in office.
