Baring a positive twist in legislative activities at the Delta State House of Assembly, the House may have ended its business for the current session even before the official date.
The reason is because since after the elections it has been difficult for the Assembly to get the required two-third of members to sit.
Last week the House did not sit due to lack of quorum, a situation observers described as unhealthy for the legislative arm of government.
Committee sittings are also not spared.
Only on Monday (yesterday ) the Information Committee chairman and Majority Leader of the House, Honourable Tim Owhefere, saved the committee from not sitting to entertain a petition filed by labour unions in DRTV Warri against their General Manager, Tunde Omonode.
Honourable Owhefere alone sat to hear the petition, with every other member of the committee absent.
When asked why the other members did not show up, he said they were busy with their cases at the election petitions tribunal.
The next State Assembly is expected to be inaugurated on June 5, 2019
