Tha National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners, (NAGGMDP) Delta state chapter has elected new officers to run the affairs of the Association.
In a keenly contested election over the weekend at the Central Hospital Agbor, Dr Ebikagboro Olayinka polled 43 votes to emerge as chairman after defeating his closest rival, Dr Onojaeme Joseph, who secured 42 votes.
According to the Returning Officer of the election, Dr Dike Okwelum, the first vice chairmanship position was won by Dr Okwunze Anthony who garnered 47 votes to beat his opponent, Dr Ogbo James.
Dr Etukpere Josiah was returned unopposed as second vice chairman of the association.
Dr Okwelum said the position of Secretary went to Dr Okoh Ikechukwu with 46, as against the 38 votes polled by Dr Tega Idiodemisi, while Dr Onamine Erawoke defeated Dr Oyibo Iyocha to win the position of Deputy Secretary.
Dr Oyawiri Aghoghor was elected Treasurer, Dr Chime Kingsley returned unopposed as Financial Secretary, while Dr Emore Vivian was also returned unopposed as Public Relations Officer.
The Returning Officer thanked the contestants for their peaceful conduct and spirit of sportsmanship during the election.
