The attention of the Delta State Ministry of Environment is hereby drawn to a messy situation by the main gate of the Delta State House of Assembly on Okpanam road, Asaba.
The hotels and eateries at the Okpanam axis would not let the staff, visitors and even passers-by breath fresh air around the gate because the kitchen waste these commercial houses flush into the drains end up at the Assembly gate.
The drains themselves are heavily silted making it difficult for the waste flushed into them to flow to the preferred destinations.
Environmental and health experts have expressed fears of possible outbreak of epidemic if the needful is not done to get the hotels and eateries to find proper ways of managing their waste.
