A member of the PDP National Campaign Council, Dr Henry Ofa, has said that the victory of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa in the March 9 governorship election is victory for democracy and a good omen for Deltans.

Dr Ofa, who was reacting to the overwhelming support of Deltans for Governor Okowa as translated into votes in the election, expressed delight at the unanimity of Deltans in delivering the Governor, irrespective of ethnic divide.

He noted that the interest shown in the Okowa project by Labour unions, professional groups, religious bodies, non indigenes, traditional rulers, opposition political parties and indeed the entire PDP family in the state was unwavering, adding that the endorsement of the Governor by various groups made the election a mere formality.

Dr Ofa, who is also the second member of the Board of the State Post Primary Education Board, paid tribute to former Governor James Ibori and the State PDP Campaign Council for giving the people cause to believe that voting for Governor Okowa and other PDP candidates was not negotiable.

He felicitated with Governor Okowa and all other PDP candidates who emerged victorious in the election and assured Deltans that the state would witness greater developmental strides in the second tenure of the Governor.
