The Delta state Governorship, National and State House of Assemblies Election Petitions Tribunal has granted order for the inspection of materials for the March 23 Governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state.
The Tribunal’s secretary, Barrister Ahmed Gusau, who disclosed this to newsmen in Asaba, said the court would commence preliminary sitting on Monday March 8, with serving the petitions on the respondents.
Barrister Gusau said the Tribunal had granted applications for substituted service on respondents in the petitions filed by Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, Doris Uboh, Sebastian Okoh, Monday Igbuya, Mariere Ogaga and John Agoda.
He stated that one petition was filed against Governor Ifeanyi Okowa by Great Ogboru of the All Progressives Congress, APC, one against Senator Ovie Omo Agege, one against Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, and two against Senator James Manager.
Barrister Gusau said nine petitions were also before the Tribunal with respect to the House of Representatives election and thirty seven for the State House of Assembly election.
