Governorship candidates of the various opposition political parties in Delta state on Friday (yesterday) expressed their anger over what they unanimously described as insufficient  appreciation of the role they played in the reelection of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

The governorship hopefuls, who met with the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor in Inter Party Relations, Honourable Efe Tobor, to discuss the matters arising from the governorship election as it affected them, came up with a communique to sum up their demands.

They called for an all inclusive administration that would provide empowerment and appointments for them and some membres of their political parties, financial support to defray the cost of their nomination forms, campaigns and mobilization of their members, as well as the money they paid to their agents.

The governorship candidates said the requests had become imperative because they all resolved to drop their ambitions to support Governor Okowa, adding that they still had a lot to do for the Governor before and during his second term in office.

Those who spoke at the meeting include the governorship candidates of Independent Democrat, Ambassador Peters Emuakpoje, Accord Party Evangelist David Ashikodi, Peoples Redemption Party Lucky Dikadi, Mr. Emmanuel America of the National Rescue Movement, and Prince Joe Chukwu of the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Others are Mr. Godwin Asikawili of Justice Must Prevail Party, Barrister Ossai Olie of Grassroots Development Party of Nigeria, Dr. Clarke Mejebi Anthony of GPN, JPC Ajaguogbadim of UPP and Honourable Lordson Ewhubareh of National Conscience Party, NCP.

Addressing the meeting, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Inter-Party Relations, Honourable Efe Tobor, assured that the all inclusive principle of the Okowa administration would be sustained in its second term.

Honourable Efe Tobor said the Governor was not unmindful of the sacrifices made by his opponents during the election, and their firm believe in the sanctity of the electoral process.

He promised the governorship candidates that Governor Okowa would not forget them in the scheme of things and urged them to join hands with the Governor to build a stronger Delta state.
