Governorship Candidates of Opposition Political Parties In Delta State Yet To Be Paid For Their Role In The General Election

The Office of the Secretary to the Government of Delta State has in the past few days witnessed frequent visits by members of opposition political parties in the state, particularly the governorship candidates, who were promised settlement for their role in the  victory of the PDP candidates, mostly Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

Investigation by gallantreporters revealed that they were to have been paid on Thursday(yesterday) but the SSG, Honourable Festus Agas, sat on the payment for, according to some of the expectant governorship candidates, no justifiable reason.

He was said to have moved the exercise to Friday.

The opposition parties, under the aegis of the Inter Party Advisory Council had, at a press conference in Asaba, given a fair assessment of the governorship election, adjudging it to be a true reflection of the will of the people.

The Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP in the state was also well disposed to the PDP winning the elections and particularly adopted the Oshimili north House of Assembly member-elect, Honourable Pat Ajudua as the sole candidate for the State Assembly election in Oshimili north.
