IBUSA Club Nigeria has thanked the people of Delta state for translating their support for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa into votes in the March 9 governorship election.
The club, in a congratulatory message signed by its Chairman Onowu Peter O. Okolie, President Sir F. N. Chukwuka and Publicity Secretary Sir Austin Onianwa, noted with delight the enthusiasm shown by Deltans as they turned out to re-elect their Governor who had done well in piloting the affairs of the state even in difficult situations.
It said the peace and orderliness that characterized the Governorship and House of Assembly elections was heart warming as everyone was mindful of avoiding anything that could disrupt the electoral process and jeopardize the sure victory of the Governor.
Ibusa Club maintained that the overwhelming triumph of Governor Okowa over his opponent, Great Ogboru of the APC, was not unexpected considering the giant developmental strides of the Okowa administration across the state as well as the people’s believe in equity, fairness and justice.
The club prayed God to see the Governor through the end of his first tenure and grant him all that was needed to drive the second tenure to the greater benefit of all.
It pledged continued support for the Governor.
In a related development, the Ibusa Club has felicitated with an illustrious son of Ibusa community, Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, on his electoral victory.
The club said the victory did not come as a surprise given the numerous developmental strides of Senator Nwaoboshi in Delta north senatorial district and the Ibusa community in particular.
It noted that Senator Nwaoboshi had made great impact on road development, renovation of schools, ongoing upgrade of the Ibusa General Hospital, skills acquisition, financial empowerment of women and youths among others.
Ibusa club prayed God to grant Senator Nwaoboshi the strength, capacity and wisdom to do better in his next four years in office.
