The Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Delta State Chapter, has adjudged the 2019 general elections in the state as a true reflection of the will of Deltans.

Addressing a press conference in Asaba, IPAC said it had done an appraisal of the electoral process in the state and was satisfied that it was free, fair and credible.

The state chairman of IPAC, Mr. Fred Obi, said the council was opposed to the verdict of a gubernatorial candidate in the state who said the election was the worst in twenty years.

Mr. Obi commended the Governorship candidate of the PPA, Dr. Odiakpo Obire, for not only calling to congratulate Governor Okowa, but also visited him in Asaba and called on other governorship candidates to emulate him.

While congratulating Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on his electoral victory, Mr. Obi appealed to those who lost in the election to accept defeat and work with the winner to move the state to greater heights.

He appealed to persons aggrieved by  the outcome of the elections to allow peace to reign, pointing out that IPAC would constitute a re-conciliatory committee to look into their grievances with a view to reducing litigation.

The state IPAC chairman commended the resilience of INEC, security agencies, party chairmen and the electorate throughout the electoral process and expressed delight that    the rumoured violence  prior to the elections did not manifest.

Mr. Obi said Governor Okowa had performed above expectations in meeting the yearnings of the people and appealed to him to carry everyone along in the governance of the state and extend a hand of fellowship to those who lost in the election.
