Delta State Governorship candidate of the Progressive Peoples’ Alliance, PPA, Dr. Odiakpo Obire who participated in the March nine gubernatorial election has congratulated Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for his victory at the polls.
Dr. Obire, who was in Government House Asaba on a solidarity visit, said he was ready to work with Governor Okowa in building a stronger Delta state.
He said every contestant in the recently conducted gubernatorial election should put the interest of the state above personal interest by joining hands with Governor Okowa to take the state to greater heights.
Dr. Obire said he was ready to contribute his quota to the development of the state if called upon, pointing out that everyone had a role to play in making the state the pride of the nation in partnership with government.
The PPA gubernatorial candidate lauded the peace building efforts of the Okowa administration which had led to the transformation of the state and the influx of both foreign and local investors to the state.
Responding, Governor Okowa said he was delighted with the visit and promised to run an inclusive government in his second tenure for the overall benefit of the people, adding that Deltans should expect better days ahead.
The Governor called on all contestants in the gubernatorial election to put the past behind and move on in the spirit of reconciliation and promised to create a forum where they would be able to play their part in the development of the state.
