Former Secretary to the Delta State Government, Comrade Ovouzuorie Macaulay, has hosted political associates, members of the PDP family in Delta state, friends and well wishers to a victory party in honour of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
The party took place at the residence of the former SSG, Commissioner and Labour leader in Asaba.
Macaulay said the outing was his own way of appreciating the PDP family and the electorate for ensuring that Governor Okowa was re-elected.
He thanked Deltans and other residents of the state for their confidence in the PDP and its candidates, particularly Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, assuring them that the Governor, known to be a promise keeper, would do better in his second term in office.
Macaulay felicitated the Governor on his resounding victory at the polls and advised him to be meticulous in appointing members of his cabinet in order to enjoy wise counsel and quality service delivery of the political class.
Also speaking on the occasion, the immediate past state chairman of the PDP, Chief Edwin Uzor, thanked Deltans for their support for the party which translated into the massive vote that gave Governor Okowa victory in the March 9 gubernatorial election.
Chief Uzor, now the Special Adviser to the Governor on Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, noted that the prevailing peace in the state contributed largely to the success of Governor Okowa at the polls because it created the enabling environment for government to deliver the best of infrastructure and implement its policies and programmes.
He congratulated Governor Okowa on his re-election and called on the people to increase their support for him in his second term in office.
