A frontline chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in the state, Ambassador Godson Echiejile, has called on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to consolidate peace building in the state in his second tenure in office.

Ambassador Echiejile made the call at his country home in Agbor while reacting to the victory of the Governor in the March 9 gubernatorial election.

He noted that the Okowa administration had achieved a lot in the state due to the prevalence of peace, stressing that it was better to err on the side of surplusage in peace building.

The former Nigerian ambassador to Sierra Leone said with peace investors would feel safe to do business in the state which would help to grow the economy, create jobs and encourage non indigenes to live in the state and contribute towards the development of the state.

The PDP stalwart, while congratulating Governor Okowa and indeed the party on the well deserved victory, thanked Deltans and other residents of the state for voting massively for the Governor and other PDP candidates in the state.

He particularly expressed delight in the good showing of the PDP in Delta central which was thought to be a no go area for the party.

Ambassador Echiejile said with the re-election of Governor Okowa the rotation of the governorship position among the three senatorial districts of the state had been sealed and thanked PDP leaders and stakeholders in the state for standing firmly on the arrangement, while suing for its sustenance.
