The collation of results of the Delta state governorship election has been concluded at the INEC Collation Centre Asaba.

At the end of the exercise, which commenced on Sunday,  the People’s Democratic Party PDP polled a total of 925,274 votes to win the governorship election with the APC trailing with 215,938 votes.

The Returning Officer of the election, Professor Seth Accra Jaja, with the power vested in him, declared the PDP candidate, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, winner of the election having won in 23 out of the 25 local government areas of the state, and having secured the highest number of votes cast in the election.

A total of 1,178,335 votes were cast in the governorship election in Delta state.
