PDP LEADS IN 12 LGA’s IN DELTA GOVERNORSHIP RACE

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has won the governorship election in Isoko south local government area of Delta state.

The result, as announced by the LGA’s Collation Officer and Provost, Federal College of Education (Technical) Asaba, Dr. Ignatius Ezoem, shows that the PDP polled a total of 43,730 votes, while the APC garnered 14,259 votes.

Dr. Ezoem said the total number of registered voters was 121,716, while the number of accredited voters was 60,668.

According to the Collation Officer, 59,759 votes were cast in the election.

He said elections were cancelled in three units in Emede and in one unit in Irri.

In Isoko north the PDP also won with 29,648 votes as against the 9,816 votes secured by the APC, while in Oshimili north local government area it was 37,044 votes for the PDP and 2,906 votes for the APC.

The PDP is leading in 12 out of the 13 local government area results so far announced by INEC in Asaba.
