The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori, has been reelected to represent the Okpe state Constituency on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
His victory was announced on Sunday by the constituency Returning Officer, Professor Emmanuel Irhabor, who said the Speaker polled 20, 784 to beat his closest rival, Mr. Harrison Akpojaro, who scored 8,564 to far second.
According to Irhabor, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of the PDP polled 20,415 to defeat Chief Great Ogboru of the APC, who scored 9,424 votes to trail behind in the gubernatorial poll held in the constituency.
In a brief chat after the declaration, the elated Speaker thanked the people of Okpe Local Government Area for voting massively for him and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
