Chief Omu thanked the Owheru community for its solidarity, urging the people to hold their daughter to every promise made by the party to the community during its electioneering campaign.

“I am appealing to you people to vote for me and your daughter on Saturday to rewrite the history of Delta State. Your daughter is a medical doctor. We went abroad to drag her to come and help build a better Delta State. In our 180 days in office we will come back here to commission a world class hospital. We will do that to honour her. Deltans will enjoy good healthcare facilities. Free education at all levels will commence two days after our inauguration. There will be good roads everywhere. ICT will be at its peak. I urge you all to take your destiny in your own hand. Vote for me and your daughter to better your lives”, Chief Omu stressed.

For her part, Dr Ugwumba, a former Special Adviser on Health to the Delta State Government and Consultant to the Senate Committee on Health, said she pitched tent with the AGAP Governorship Candidate, Chief Brando Omu to develop the state to the envy of other states.

“This ceremony is to thank you all for listening to me by voting for President Mahamadu Buhari in the 23rd February 2019 presidential election. Buhari won in my Uwheru Ward 9. That victory was made possible by the believe and respect you have for me as your daughter. So I must come back to say thank you and give you direction for Saturday’s Governorship and State House of Assembly elections”.  Dr Ugwumba said.

Continuing “9th March 2019 is a date for us to change the destiny of Delta State for the better. Like you did for President Buhari, I enjoin you all to turn out enmass on Saturday to vote for AGAP candidates for the governorship election. We have a mission to fix Delta State. The party’s manifesto is clear and all point to a better and greater Delta State. We have designed a comprehensive road map to achieve set goals within the next four years”.

Dr Ugwumba, an Associate Professor in Family Medicine, University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine, Canada, stated that her desire to serve as Deputy Governor of Delta State was divine and achievable with the support of Deltans.

While stressing that there was the need for her to join forces with great minds to build a more united and prosperous state, Dr Ugwumba, said “we will use the resources of Delta State wisely to the benefit of all”.

The State Chairman of the party, Chief Alex Oyoro, acknowledged the support of the people and urged them to vote for AGAP candidates on Saturday.

Some respondents described Dr Rukevwe Ugwumba as a worthy daughter of the Owheru community and promised to mobilize greater support for her and her party in Saturday’s Governorship election.
