The Delta State Tricycle and Motorcycle Operators Association has called on its members to not only come out enmass to vote for Senator Ifeanyi Okowa in the March 9 governorship election, but to also canvass support for him.

The state secretary of the association, Comrade Emmanuel Afatakpa, who made the call in an exclusive interview with gallantreporters in Asaba, said Governor Okowa deserved the total support of Keke and Okada riders for adding value to their operations.

Comrade Afatakpa said the Governor made the association a major stakeholder in the Delta Project by giving it a role in revenue generation, adding that the Governor had saved some members of the association the burden of balance and take with the floating of a revolving loan scheme to enable them own their tricycles and motorcycles.

He stated that some members of the association had also benefitted from the job creation programmes of the Okowa administration which had helped to make them self reliant and employers of labour.

Comrade Afatakpa noted that the ban on commercial motorcycle operation in some parts of the state by the Okowa administration had a multiplier effect on the state’s economy with increased number of Keke sales outlets, jobs for unemployed youths, reduction in Okada induced accidents and crime.

While saying that one good turn deserves another, Comrade Afatakpa appealed to all Keke and Okada operators in the state to support the re-election bid of Governor Okowa to enable him to complete the good work he had started and take more dividends of democracy to all parts of the state.
