The member representing the Isoko south constituency one in the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Orezi Esievo, was on Saturday prevented from voting in her ward five unit four polling center, Emede in Isoko south local government area of the state.

The legislator, who had gone to the unit to cast her vote in the Presidential and National Assembly election, was booed along with other members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the unit and chased out of the polling center by APC faithful who dominated the unit.

While the incident was taking place the APC candidate for the Isoko Federal Constituency election, Mr. Joel Onohwakpor, arrived at the polling center and was ushered in with a loud ovation.

Although Honourable Esievo had insisted that she would vote for the candidates of her choice the APC members stopped her from doing so, even in the presence of security operatives.

She and the other PDP faithful later left the scene without casting their votes to avoid being attacked.

At Aviara, also in Isoko south local government area, the election was peaceful, though it started behind schedule.

The member representing the Isoko south constituency two in the Delta State House of Assembly, Honourable Johnson Erijo and a PDP leader in the area, Chief Solomon Ogbah, told gallantreporters that the delay in the commencement of voting alluded to the fact that INEC needed to improve on its logistics before the conduct of the governorship election.

They commended the enthusiasm demonstrated by Aviara people for the election as well as their peaceful and orderly conduct during the election.
