A House of Representatives Member, Abdulmumuni Jibrin, and 70 other party supporters have been arrested by the Police in Kano, following Thursday’s violent clash between PDP and APC supporters in Kofa Town of Bebeji Local Government which reportedly claimed five lives.
Former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso was said to be on a campaign train around Kofa town of Bebeji local government area of Kano the fateful day when violence broke out between his supporters and those of APC’s Abdulmumuni Jibrin Kofa resulting to the loss of lives.
The House of Representatives member, Abdulmumuni Jibrin Kofa, alleged that sixty campaign vehicles were burnt down.
However, the Police PPRO DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, told newsmen that the police arrested 70 party members including leaders and also invited Kofa for interrogation.
The PPRO added only two persons were killed in the clash which left several others injured and 20 Cars burnt to ashes, while 18 other Political Campaign vehicles were touched.
He said a clinic was also burnt down while no house was either touch or put on fire.
The Police spokesman said, “we invited Kofa for interrogation to give the police more insight into what exactly happened”.
