In a bid to quicken the dispensation of justice, the Delta state police command has charged to Court one Friday Eluro of Boji Boji Owa and two others following a trending video of a woman that was stripped necked and assaulted by the trio.
The said Friday Eluro was a one time aide to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and a former Chief in Owa Kingdom, Ika North East Local Government Area of Delta State.
He was said to have more than 20 boys on his payroll, whom he used for his nefarious activities.
The video of the assault attracted public attention, sympathy and condemnation.
The Police after their investigation charged the said Friday Eluro and two others to Ashaka Magistrate court for his despicable act of abduction, torture and dehumanizing treatment of stripping a woman naked.
The volatile nature of his community informed the reason for applying for assumption of jurisdiction to Ashaka Magistrate court and he has since been remanded in Kwale prison.
A statement by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Police Command, ASP Chuks Orisewezie, has warned against people taking the law into their hands.
The statement says the police authority is prepared to deal with any act of crime and criminality, while the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adeyinka Adeleke has assured members of the public of his commitment to their safety and security at all times.
