President Muhammadu Buhari has called on Nigerians to file out on Saturday to exercise their constitutional right of electing their President and National Assembly members.
President Buhari, in a nationwide broadcast on Thursday night, assured of commitment of the federal government to free, fair and credible elections, stressing that anything short of that would not be tolerated.
While saying that he and other presidential candidates had signed a peace accord, the President appealed to Nigerians to take personal interest in promoting peace in their neighborhood during the election, advising Nigerian youths not to allow themselves to be used to foment trouble during the election as the consequences of that would be severe.
Buhari encouraged members of the diplomatic community and foreign observers to go about their activities without fear of harassment, intimidation or attack as their safety and protection would not be compromised.
